Volunteerism is a good thing for everyone to do for anyone that has no experience or a lot even because it could help one along the way and to get a lot more experience for a resume. One could also meet new contacts for a reference so that the employer could have a better reason to hire one.

Some volunteer jobs can even help neighborhoods, community and even the world. Volunteerism could also give a better idea of what on want pursue as a career. For example say you want to be a computer person but you don't know what expertise you want. By volunteering you can explore what expertise spark your interest for purpose of pursuit.

Volunteerism can also help one learn new skills to have a better chance for getting a job or career. Some skills are used every day and not even realized it. Volunteerism can help sharpen the skills one already have. Most organizations might need new people with more skills than one has or meeting.

The work force one may require skills before taking on new challenges. The world for work is changing every day. There are always new skills that one can learn. Volunteerism can help one feel useful, active and productive. Volunteering ones skills is also a good way to keep them sharp during a stagnant period of time.

Volunteering allows one to try new try new actives, meet new challenges and discover new strengths. Volunteering is an effective way to make a powerful demonstration about what one believes in. By volunteering one can turn plans into action and action can have tangible. Volunteerism can also give one a chance to find effective ways for self-expression and problem resolution.

Volunteering can give a feel for jobs or work places that one might be interested in. One can also become more comfortable with the other, the "language" and the expectation involved with organization. Variety of places, one can learn many ways of working. One cangain understanding of what kind of jobs are available.

Volunteering can help you take the skills one already has and "customize" for use in a new job or work place. First getting volunteer experience in a new field of work, you can make your skills better to meet new goals.

There you have it folks. I'm sure that as you read this list, you thought of benefits that I did not. There are so many wonderful perks of being self-employed that it was hard to keep the reasons for it to a limit of 15! I hope what I came up with has inspired you and got you thinking beyond that nasty old box.

What does it take to be a volunteer? Well it takes caring enough to do something for your community, to turn caring into action and to follow through on the promise that you have made and go all the way with it because it will all pay off at the end.
